Predated and ravaged by American Mink, the critically endangered native Water Vole - Arvicola amphibius, a Biodiversity priority species, has been pushed to the brink of existence. It is one of Britain’s most captivating animals: Ratty from Wind in the Willows.

The objective of the Mink Eradication Project is to eradicate the invasive American mink - Neovison vison, from a landscape scale area of East Anglia, in the process providing a meaningful test of the feasibility, cost and duration of a GB-wide eradication campaign. In this context, the minimum area over which an eradication pilot scheme should be achieved is 5,000 km2.

A year on since starting in April, I will be providing an update on the Project progress. Subscribe to my newsletter to receive up dates on this and other projects.
